Cheryl Ann “Tom” Farmer Grubbs, 63, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital. A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Comer’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. For safety, the family asks that everyone in attendance wear a face covering. She was born in Rockingham County on September 11, 1958, to the late James “Rink” and Maggie Booth Farmer. Tom loved going horseback riding, going camping in the mountains, and going junking and yard selling. She also enjoyed crocheting and quilting, but nothing compared to spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Allen “Doc” Farmer and James Stoney Farmer; and her sister, Robin Hickman. Surviving are her husband, Bobby Lee Grubbs of the home; her son, Terry Grubbs and wife Tracy of Ridgeway, VA; her daughter, Amanda Gusler of Madison; her grandchildren, Kallie and Kaleb Gusler; her special friends, Henry and Linda Shelton; all of her friends at Kontoor Brands; and her beloved pets, Abby and Daisy.
