Donald Alfert Thomas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donald Alfert Thomas, 82, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021, at UNC Rockingham Healthcare. An 11:00 a.m. graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Floyd Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Corey Engebretson and Pastor Gerald Collins officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the graveside at Floyd Baptist Church. Donald was born in Amelia County, Virginia on May 31, 1938 and was the son of the late Lester and Isabel Thompson Thomas. He was a member of Floyd Baptist Church and graduated from Stoneville Highschool. Donald served in the US Army, worked for John Smith Welding, and later had his own welding business. He loved NASCAR and enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Christine Burgess; and his brother, Simon Lester Thomas, “Jr.” Donald is survived by his brother, Luther C. Thomas of Stoneville; and his sisters, Doris T. Clifton of Stoneville and Brenda T. Collins and husband Gerald of Graham; and his sister-in-law, Carolyn Kendrick.
