Roby Mae Estes

August 18, 1929 - January 27, 2020

Roby Mae Clark Estes, 90, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Annie Penn Hospital. A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, at Ray Funeral Home with Reverend John Atkins officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. A Virginia native, Mae was born on August 18, 1929, to the late Willie Hurlbert and Mable Brady Clark. She was a member of Mayodan Pentecostal Holiness Church (now the Refuge) and was very active in her church working with many of the activities and also a Sunday School teacher. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked with the Lions Club and was a Site Manager for Council on Aging organizing meals and programs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Vannoy Estes, Sr. She is survived by her children, William “Bill” Vannoy Estes, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Coeur d’Alene, ID; John Theodore Estes and wife, Jackie of Greensboro, NC; Judy Estes Branson of Archdale, NC; Denise Estes Gray and husband, Mark of Avon, NC; Kenneth Estes of Martinsville, VA; Annette Estes Lilly and husband, Mike of Mayodan, NC; Christopher “Chris” Wayne Estes and Marie A. Cooke of Winston-Salem, NC; James Barry Estes of Mayodan, NC and Charles Kevin Estes “Kevin” and wife, Melanie of Clayton, NC.
